In case anyone is looking for the result, Chesham & Bury drew 1-1 this afternoon.
This was a much improved performance by Chesham in front of a crowd of 260 addicts, swelled by a good following making the long trip from Bury St. Edmunds.
Bury scored just before half time but Chesh managed an excellent equalizer by Dom Masarla close in, following a succession of passes ending in a cross from the right. It's good to see him back at the Club.
Chesham always looked likely to snatch a winner and dominated the game for lengthy periods while Bury seemed to be happy to get a draw, rarely threatening to score throughout the second half.
JK was voted Chesham's M.o.T.M - well deserved in my opinion, having worked tirelessly offensively and defensively and catching the eye with one particularly impressive 60-yard run which almost led to a goal. Leon Archer was sadly injured, which tended to weaken the goal prospects of the team.
The Bury 'keeper also played well, making some fine saves. There were a few bookings by the slightly puzzling referee, but there was no serious nastiness in the game.
Both of these teams looked to be worthy of a place in the playoffs, which is probably where they are both heading.
